REGIONAL ATTRACTIONS & INFORMATION Schroon Lake is an ideal destination point as base camp for many activities both locally and regionally.  Once you have explored the many activities that are available locally there are many and varied options from which to choose regionally.   Within an hours drive you can access the trails to all or most of the high peaks.   Keene Valley and Lake Placid are less than an hour to the north.   Montreal is 2.5 hours to the north.  Vermont is a 30 minute drive away.  The chamber site lists a number of regional activities.
